15. POSITIONING ON A COMPUTER WORKSTATION

GOOD WORKING POSITION

To understand the best way to set up a computer workstation, it is helpful to understand the concept of neutral body positioning. This is a comfortable working posture in which your joints are naturally aligned. Working with the body in a neutral position reduces stress and strain on the muscles, tendons, and skeletal system and reduces your risk of developing a musculoskeletal disorder (MSD). The following are important considerations when attempting to maintain neutral body postures while working at the computer workstation:
Hands, wrists, and forearms are straight, in-line and roughly parallel to the floor.

Head is level or bent slightly forward, forward facing, and balanced. Generally it is in-line with the torso.

Shoulders are relaxed and upper arms hang normally at the side of the body.

PROBLEMS CAUSED BY BAD POSTURES ON A COMPUTER

      1. Vision problems have many causes including:
Sitting too close to the monitor can cause myopia. The ideal distance between the user and the monitor, even under discussion, should not be less than 40cm from the user's eyes.
NECK

2. Aches and different degrees of tension neck highlight muscle problems caused by:
Base of the neck is almost flat; this problem occurs most often when working in consultation documents that are low on the work surface or when the monitor is very low. Fix it using a document holder or other item to upload and lift the monitor by placing something under this until its top is at eye level.

SHOULDERS
3. The fatigue or shoulder pain is usually caused by poor posture, which causes muscle tension, and evidence that the shoulders are very raised or returned to the body:
If the shoulders are too high in general this is because the work surface is too high, then you can go down the keyboard, desk, lift chair or put a foot support.
The elbows rest on the armrests that are too high. To solve this problem remove or lower a bit the arm or seat change.

4. BACK AND LEGS
Injuries that occur in back and legs, usually pain of varying intensity
